UPDATED League Structure
As you know we marketed two winter leagues; The South Run League and the “Hybrid League” at the Box in Chantilly. We have FIFTY-FIVE boys teams with players registered for a very competitive league. We expected to have an equal number of teams playing at each location with most of the teams from Western Fairfax County and Loudoun choosing to play in Chantilly. Based on final registrations this wasn't the case. We worked with team coaches to determine which teams would play at both locations. The majority of the teams will play at both location.
- MORE GAMES: The teams who have agreed to play at both locations will play more than the promised 7 games – as many as 9. MORE LACROSSE at the same price!
- Each team will play the majority of their games at the location for which they originally registered.
- FEWER BYES: With the size of the league teams would have several byes. Instead of not playing every week, the teams will play at alternating locations. LESS DOWNTIME.
- The teams who choose to play at only one location will play only 7 games.
UPDATED FORMAT @ The BOX in Chantilly
Teams will play the same format as South Run 8 v 8 lacrosse with one exception; NO Long Sticks on defense.
(2 Attack, 3 Midfield, 2 Defense -NO long poles - and a Goalie). The response from the teams who have played at the Box has been very positive. The players, coaches, and parents overwhelmingly agree that the facility is large enough to support the new format. This will allow more players on the field and less of an adjustment when playing games at both locations. Our Field Directors will formally brief all teams of the rules and format prior to their first game. THIS IS NOT BOX LACROSSE!

EQUIPMENT and CLOTHING
Players MUST provide their own full game equipment; Helmet, arm and shoulder pads, gloves and MOUTH PIECE. Players will not be allowed to play without ALL required game equipment
SOUTH RUN – SHOES: You may wear all purpose cleats or sneakers. Dress warmly in layers the facility is NOT HEATED
THE BOX – SHOES: You MUST wear sneakers or basketball shoes only NO CLEATS
